Sam Destiny – Meet The Morningstar!

This is a blog about all things important to me… Books, my writing, inspiration

She didn’t do it in a long time! A blog post, that is.

Hey guys! *waves*

I didn’t write for you in forever and thought I should come here and grovel a bit.

Anyway, so here am I, thinking it might soften you up if I tell you what I’ve been up to. Or maybe what the twins have been up to. Oh, twins. I saw you reacted to that word. I’m not surprised. i react to it each and every time. Anyway, I’m getting distracted again! So, book two is written is currently being edited by the amazing Bree Vanderland, who kinda took me on as a charity case. I’ve got the date for the cover all set and can’t wait to show it to you all (after Airicka at Airicka’s Mystical Creations created it, that is…) and then we’ll get to have the book released October 16th! YEAH, I know, a date! How crazy is that? So, I know there are so many questions unanswered, BUT if you actually follow me (duh, you are here) you saw that I released a novella. It didn’t exactly answer questions, but it gave background that you maybe didn’t have before. Personally, I love it because it’s Kaden. *shrugs* I love Kaden. Oh, and I love Jaden. I think Jaden really changes with this whole thing. He’s mated and supposed to make her happy after all! Oh, Jaden… Be still, my heart!

So, what was I saying? Right, twins. That actually reminds me of something else I wanted to tell you. I’ve started writing book three (yet untitled for all of you…) and I tried to change the focus away from the twins. I mean, you know, after two books and a novella of them, who wants to see them any longer, huh? Yeah, I tell you who: ME. And Maya. Oh, Maya wants to see them a lot. *giggles* Anyway, so there’ll be more twins, but then, there’ll be a new couple as well. Gees, look at me, telling you all about book three when you are still waiting for book two. *cracks knuckles and leans back in glee* Oh, don’t you all wish you’d KNOW? Yeah, I can imagine. Guess what though? I AIN’T GONNA TELL YA! Boy, being an author is awesome!

What else is fresh? I’ve been seeing the comments about Tagged (yeah, I don’t ignore you on purpose!), the ones asking or hoping or praying for book two. I didn’t rule it out so far, but so far nothing is set in stone. I have a few different projects that will probably touch you equally as much (at least that’s what I hope), but yes, Tessa and Jazz are on my radar. In fact, they might actually talked a little to me, so I think maybe one day we’ll be able to work something out.

So lastly, as I mentioned, there’s more heart-touching stuff coming, which leads me to the last book I’ll release this year. It’s a contemporary romance following Aly, a girl with her heart in the right place, and a child she loves more than life itself. We are not even close, but I swear, you will love the cover and hopefully the story.

All I can tell you now is to stay tuned.

Be a star, everyone. A Morningstar!

After Release Is Before Release….

Well, well, well, what can I say? We made it. Okay, I did. I made it to the release and even beyond that! WOW! I feel like the queen of the world!

Some people even already read the book and seemed to enjoy it. Am I excited? Hell yes!! But frankly, everyone around me comes and asks me for my sales. I don’t mind talking about my sales … problem is, I CAN’T. I don’t check them daily. In fact, I only ever check them if someone asks about them. People don’t believe me whenever I say that, but … I don’t do it because of the money. I don’t write because of it. Sure, it’s a nice bonus to know I can buy two or even three ebooks now that I wouldn’t buy normally because I try to keep my money together, but it’s not my main reason for writing.

I don’t know if that makes me weird or whatever, but it’s the truth. I’ve always written, sometimes more and sometimes less, but I loved sharing it with my best friend. Or others that wanted to read it. So that’s what I am doing now. And as long as someone reads what I write (as you do), I did something right. And it’s all I ever wanted. And I enjoy it. Okay, so now that we got the serious part out of the way, I can talk about the more fun things! YAY!

So… I released, but even while getting ready for that I was already writing again. Are you excited? I am excited. I am super excited. TOTALLY! I already hit a mark… My current WIP is already over 50k long and I don’t see an end coming yet. It’s amazing, and probably a reason, too, why I just don’t care how my book is doing. I love my vampires, definitely, but they are strong and proud and they best speak for themselves. And they are very convincing … trust me, I know best. They keep talking to me, but someone else takes precedence right now. Boy, I can’t wait for you all to meet him and my sweet amazing… Ah, I almost spilled it! But no, I wanna keep that a little longer. I promise, soon I’ll tell you all about my two newest loves!

For now I just wanted to let you all know I am not slacking or anything. I am writing. I’m just not so well with all that keeping up on media sides… I’d much rather hide.

And, last but not least: A fun fact about myself… I am totally in love with Kaden right now and fanfic-ing my own story. Weird? No. Fun? YES!

I hope you all are doing well. Thank you for everything!

What has been going on… Or: How being an author keeps you occupied

I know I haven’t really written or shared much with you in the last time. It’s simply because I don’t want to take my whole book away… And, let’s be honest, I don’t have photoshop or any other hot-editing program that makes pretty teasers. And I want to have pretty teasers. Oh well. So, I decided to actually share my PROLOGUE with all of you in this blog. How do you like that? It’s just for you, my sweet and amazing fans on my page. 😉

BUT, before you get that awesomeness, I wanna tell you a few other things, just so you know what’s going on now.

I wanted to release my book December 1st, I really did, but I decided that making it pretty and look good (sound good as well, of course) was more important then throwing it out there. So while the first reactions have been amazing, I want for you all to get the best experience possible.  Therefore we are waiting. Trust me, it’s not making me happy, either.

Besides that I’ve been writing on my next project and it’s coming along good. We are close to 40k words, to be honest. I’m gonna tell you more about Tagged For Life after Set In Flames actually was thrown out there. Then we’ll have new teasers and I’m gonna tell you a little bit about what this is.

So, anyways… I promised you the Prologue, and HERE IT IS!

Okay, so you all know that I actually haven’t been writing (I tried to convince myself that then I would study more…) because my exams are coming up and even though they don’t matter, I planned to study for about two weeks…

Yeah, I know, I know… Even though I didn’t touch my laptop until last night, I actually read a lot and thought about what I would write… And what else I still need to sort through until I actually get as far as hitting publish ( OMG, I will hit publish one day???) and it’s a lot. I mean, you need to consider a lot of things that I never thought I could consider so many different things… Including the fact of what I’d do before publishing.

Obviously being an author is NOT cheap, especially not when starting, so I thought about the editing process. I know what readers think (especially because whenever I am a reader I am like that, too), but by now I know that especially for debuts it’s hard to pay for an editor. Does that mean my book will be fully of mistakes? No. I will count on a handful of people that I’ll handpick and that promised to read my book. They might not be professional editors, but they are passionate readers, and, honestly, who could be better for me than that? No one, I think. I love them for being my trial bunnies. They are awesome.

Besides that I think I am finally closer to a date where I can actually publish the book… I mean, you all know how things are with tentative dates, but I can say that as of right now it looks really good for a december release. As in… VERY good. Of course that depends a lot on the fact that my bestest PA Yvi takes away from her time to edit the first rough draft… And I swear, so far  it’s really rough! *winks* Jaden really wants this story done though because he hopes he gets some quiet time with Maya then… We will see, I guess.

What else does it depend on? Nothing more but the fact that I really want to have a good feeling about that book before I bring that book to any market – and with that finally giving you what you liked my page for.

Until then though this is what’s going on right now in my writer’s life.

Thank you for being here and reading that.

Let’s get started…

Hi everyone. So yeah, I guess an author needs a blog. I’m an author. Well, I want to be one. I’m writing a book… or actually two, so I guess I need a blog…

Well, what could I possibly write about?

Ah, I think I’ll simply start about the way my writing works. So far I usually tended to write down scenes whenever they came to mind, and I used to write a little with a friend. Then I started writing fanfics, the way probably a lot of people do nowadays.

But then I kinda really thought maybe I should try it, you know? Like really try that author thing and I did what seemed to be the first big commitment: I opened up a Facebook-fanpage. Yeah, welcome to the world of new media! *winks* And so my long road began…

I was sure vampires would be it. i mean, after all, I already had one notebook filled with the story and it came along really well until a certain, hot-blooded cowboy thought he might like it better if I focus on him for now. As with most writers, I actually have a hard time ignoring a certain story idea whenever I write. The WIP I have would suddenly not come out write until eventually the muse would fully leave and the second idea would cross its arms in front if its chest, saying: See where ignoring me got you?

So now I have two stories that I both absolutely love and that I actually write in turns. I know I announced vampires a lot, but maybe it won’t be vampires as my debut novel. I swear, I’m torn. Jaden, my vampire, gets a sissy fit almost daily. You know how guys are: They want to be the first for you.

So, where do I exactly stand? i stand in the middle of two stories that I both absolutely love and that got two of my friends swooning, no matter which one it is. I can’t decide and yet, I am guessing i don’t need to yet, right? We’ll just go and see where this takes me…

So for now… Have a great weekend everyone and stay safe!
